Jason and I met in 2004 and were married later that same year. When we met, Jason was going through a very dark period in his life where he was struggling with his faith, and I had gone through a very emotionally painful divorce after almost 8 years of marriage to my first husband. Though our circumstances were very different, Jason and I both felt like failures. We felt we had failed ourselves, our families, and most of all God.

We had both been brought up in Christian homes and had accepted Jesus into our hearts at a very young age, but we both agree that until recently we didn't truly have a relationship with Christ. We believed in Him and had often prayed to Him, but we didn't truly know Him, and we certainly weren't living our lives for Him.

That all changed in 2008. We had just gone through another very difficult and discouraging period in our lives after a business that we started and had high hopes in failed to succeed. We were broke and struggling to make ends meet. The stress of the dashed dream and financial strain was affecting our marriage and emotional well being.

All I knew to do was to cry out to God. Sometimes it takes a period of despair to shake us up and make us realize how much we need Him. We decided that things needed to change and that we needed to begin putting God first in our lives. Since then, He has taken us on an amazing journey of revelation and discovery of who He is; leading us across the world to India, Sri Lanka, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe, and showing us that nothing can stand in the way of God's plan for those who love Him.
